A Walk Down Memory Lane

Welcome to May!! If April showers really do bring May flowers we are in for a colorful month! OK, maybe hoping for flowers is a little optimistic this year. Let's just hope it quits snowing.

Today the sky is blue, the sun is shining I'm feeling spring in the air. Which brings me to the point of this, so far pointless, blog post. Every spring my mind returns to the book 'Spring Begins in March' by Jean Little. I loved this book as a child and the characters have stuck with me for all these years. Jean Little's main characters always have a disability of some sort and for the life of me I can't remember what Meg's was. But I remember Meg, and the upset caused in her life when Grandma moves in. And I remember her rascal of a West Highland Terrier. It's because of this novel that I will always have a soft spot in my heart for Westies. I think it might be time for a reread.

Do you have a favorite childhood novel that comes back to you from time to time even though it has been years since you last read it? (or, in my case a lifetime since the last read) Please share.

  1. Oh yes, I do. Whenever anyone asks me my favorite childhood novel, I say Alice in Wonderland. It was the first book that hooked me and lead me into a lifetime of reading.

Glad to have found your blog.

  2. Sadly I can't remember the name if it but it was the first chapter book I ever read and it was about owls. I remember reading it out loud to my mom while she tied quilts. I was so proud of myself. Thanks for stopping by my blog and commenting. I never seem to get comments on reviews which is just weird.

  3. I don't get many comments on reviews either. I love getting them, though, so I try and give them when I feel moved to.
