Teaser Tuesday

I hope you all are well this gloomy, rainy Tuesday. I look forward to days like this so I can just curl up and read without guilt. I'm sure God created rainy days for just that reason. Like the new picture? I wish I could remember who I stole it from so I could give her credit (if you read this - let us know it's you!)

I have just finished the book 'Wisdom of Our Fathers: Lessons and Letters from Daughters and Sons' by Tim Russert and I'm just starting 'Louisa and the Missing Heiress' by Anna MacLean. So, lucky you, two teasers today:

From 'Wisdom of Our Fathers' page 211:

"I won't deny that a racially mixed marriage might have been a little difficult for him to get used to. After all, I grew up in the fifties in a town where a mixed marriage was one between a Lutheran and a Catholic."

From 'Louisa and the missing Heiress' page 67:


"The morning fog had not lifted, and the great ships and smaller schooners of Boston Harbor rocked gently on the swells like gargantuan birds, their wings tucked under, barely visible through the drifting mist and spray. Rigging creaked; watch bells clanged; the voices of the shoremen and dock-hands echoed and repeated, bouncing off that thick pea-soup fog."
