TBR Tuesday

Welcome to another TBR Tuesday: the day we take some time and explore our ever growing TBR piles. As you can see from the picture, my TBR pile is a literal pile and I supplement it with a list. I'd love to see what's on your TBR list so, if you write a TBR post, leave the link in the comments.

I have had The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova on my bookshelf for about two years now waiting for my attention. I can't recall how I came to possess this well lauded tome, but there it sits. I had totally forgotten about it, truth be told, until the other day when I ran into a lovely review of it at Bibliophile's Corner. Now I am very anxious to find the time for it.

For some years now I have had a rather perverse interest in Vlad the Impaler. Not the fictional Count Dracula (although I am not opposed to him either) but the real Count Dracula. The one who's name Bram Stoker stole for his infamous novel. I know that Vlad features prominently in this book but I'm not sure whether it is the fictional or somewhat factual Vlad. I guess I'll have to read the book and find out. I'm hoping to get to it soon.

  3. I've added this to my TBR list. I have the same perverse interest in Vlad. Good grief, just saying that name gives me the shudders! It's better to call him Dracula. That doesn't sound as grim and gory.

  4. Lindsay - Our basement's back wall is all bookshelves and my husband is balking at making more. I'm thinking he'll get tired of the 'book horder' look in the bedroom and give in soon.

  9. Thank you so much for the mention! This book gives both a historical and a fictional look at Vlad and I think that your fascination with him will give you one more reason to like the novel ;)
