Teaser Tuesday

I hope everyone is having a great week so far. If the blog looks a little different today, it's because I was debating changing the look a bit and while I was messing with that idea, I lost the original. Spent quite a few hours getting back to this close. Hopefully the rest of the week goes better. So here it is: Teaser Tuesday!

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

* Grab your current read
* Open to a random page
* Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
* BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
* Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

I am involved in two books, at present so I thought I'd share a teaser from each. Work for you? Ok, first up is 'A Crowded Marriage' by Catherine Alliott:

From page 125: "How rude, I thought as we went outside to the car; how very rude of me indeed, but actually, this was all about self-preservation. Last night had shown me just how easily I could become a fly in a web, how easy it would be to be manipulated."

And from 'Effigy' by Alissa York:

From page 31: "The skulls have taken hours. She's proceeded in order of descending size - adult male down through female runt - scooping out brains, severing optic nerves, prying eyeballs out whole."

That should give you something to think about for the rest of the day. Take care!

  1. EFFIGY is my favorite teaser of the two. It makes me squirm, though! :) I liked the thought of a fly in the web of the first one, too.

    Thanks for commenting on my TT :)

  2. I would need to see the context of Effigy. It seems a bit disturbing. My teaser is at http://lisaisabookworm.blogspot.com/2011/05/teaser-tuesday_24.html
