Lately I've been feeling a little bored with the blog. So it's time to spike the punch! Before Let's Book It, I didn't spend much time considering cover art. That has changed. Covers are truly art and that means everyone has their own opinions as to what is good. Here's my proposal. I have chosen a few books strictly for their covers. Now I'd like you all to vote on which cover you like best - just the cover not the author, not the book. Got it? Good.
You have one week to vote. I will showcase the chosen cover next Friday, July 22. In that post I will also post the rules to enter to win the book with the winning cover. Sound like a plan? I thought so.
So here are your choices. I have avoided checking the synopses of any of them myself. It'll be like receiving a wrapped gift. You can enjoy the wrapping but no peeking. What's inside is a surprise.
Comment with your choice. One person, one vote. Click on the cover if you'd like to see a larger picture.
The Map of Time!!
ReplyDeleteLoved the map of time I think you will too. Cool idea.
ReplyDeleteHave to go with The Map of Time. Very nicely done.
ReplyDeleteI too choose The Map of Time as my favorite.
ReplyDeleteSecret Daughter :)
ReplyDeleteThis is a super cool idea.
Skirting the grave
ReplyDeleteChildren on the cover are kinda of creepy..and i admit map of time looks cool...but if they were all in a pile I'd go with Eve
ReplyDeleteTough one, but I will go with Secret Daughter :)
ReplyDeleteCool idea, tough choice. I like at least four of the covers but the top three would be: Land of the Painted Caves, Skirting the Grave and my number 1; The Map of Time, love the steampunk fantasy of it all.

ReplyDeleteThis is a dillema :). The Map of Time or The Land of Painted Caves? I'll go with The Land of Painted Caves because the colors are great.
ReplyDeleteHands down it is THE MAP OF TIME for me - great cover that one
ReplyDeleteAparajita(http://le-grande-codex.blogspot.com/)
Skirting the Grave - because the dress reminds me of 1950s England. I was born in 1948 and am very nostalgic for that time.
ReplyDeleteOh yeah The Map of Time for sure!
ReplyDeletei like the map of time one
ReplyDeleteOh this is hard. Without looking at the descriptions I go with The Map of Time. It looks great.
ReplyDeleteThe Map of Time wins out for me. My second choice is Those Who Save Us, which is a wholly different effect, but the concept intrigues me. On the other hand, so does the concept of The Map of Time, and it's a much more visceral image. So, TMOT it is.
ReplyDeleteLike many of your previous commenters, I am choosing Map of Time. The dark silhouette of the man, and the gauzy/foggy background, along with the fading bookshelves suggest an eery, mystical, and perhaps dangerous storyline. I would definitely pick up this book based on its cover alone. This is a great blog post idea Dana - what fun!
ReplyDeleteI couldn't make my mind up between The Map of Time and Eve. But I'm going with Eve. She looks determined!
ReplyDeleteThe Map of Time =]
ReplyDeleteWOW! That's a hard choice! I'd have to say my favorite of all is The Map of Time!
ReplyDeleteMap of Time, yes. But Those Who Save Us is a close second.
ReplyDeleteWow! That's a lot of votes for The Map of Time but I've got to go with Eve.

ReplyDeletevery hard to decide. I'll go with "The Map of Time"...:)
ReplyDeleteLike EVE.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely Map of Time. It has that mysterious, dark, eerie, Ebenezer Scrooge~ish feel. Love that!
ReplyDeleteNot to be unoriginal, but Map of Time. I'd grab it immediately. It's mysterious with a promise of history, shivers, and fun.
ReplyDeleteHowever, the only two I wouldn't grab: Eve and The Land of Painted Caves. Too stylized.
Definitely the Map of Time - so much so that I went to amazon to look it up! :) What a great idea for a post - I pick up books based on cover art (and sometimes even title font) all the time!
ReplyDeleteMap of Time is my favorite cover. The book, not so much.
ReplyDeleteI think skirting the grave is cute:)
ReplyDeleteDefinately the map of time because I have the painted cave
ReplyDeleteBit late on this but would say The Map of Time :)
