Today's a new page fun giveaway

If you want your life story to be magnificent
Then begin by realizing you are the author
And every day is a new page.

I found this quote while stumbling and thought we could have a little fun with it. My bookshelf is in need of a good cleaning out - so I can fit more books in, of course. There is already a giveaway ending on Aug 30 here and one ending on Aug 31 here but we are missing one that ends on Aug 29. That just won't do. So here's what I propose: a short contest/giveaway that incorporates the quote above and some of my gently used books. International, of course.

Comment on this post with what you did today that would make a reader interested in reading the book of your life. Was it a random act of kindness? Did you do something really stupid? or funny? Maybe there was a steamy love scene or sweet romantic moment involved. Or something else totally. Tell the truth - if nothing interesting is happening on it's own, maybe you have to go out and make something happen. Because each day is a new page, you can enter each day between today and the 28th. DON'T FORGET TO LEAVE YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS! On the 29th I will choose the five best days and the winners can choose a book from the following (click on the cover to go to a synopsis of the plot):
The Pagan Stone (Sign of Seven, Book 3) Hide: A Detective D. D. Warren NovelFinding LauraDivining Women (Gibbons, Kaye)Obsession
On this page of my book: Today I discovered that my car has a fatal disease. Hopefully the doctors can save it but right now, if I drive it on the highway it begins to shake and cough and the engine threatens to come out. It should be an interesting five hour drive on the highway to my Mom's tomorrow. Hope we all survive the trip. Pretty lame, I know but that's as good as my life gets right now. Good luck all.

  1. Sounds fun!!

I promised a friend ages ago that I would do ANYTHING with her for her birthday (she was going through a lot and worried she would be alone for her special day). Today was her special day. What did she want to do? TAKE A POLE DANCING CLASS!! So today I went to a pole dancing class for the first time with my friend.

    I was AWFUL!

  2. Hey! Awesome giveaway idea. Today... What happened today that readers would one day want to read about. Well, today started out like any other day. Woke up, slightly annoyed by the sunlight beating its way into my bedroom at 7am, heating up the room to ungodly temperatures far too early in the day. Then, I got a call from my best friend, who I haven't seen in months, and she is moving back up to my area for graduate school. She's apartment hunting tomorrow, and it was just one of those moments. Joy and happiness. Unexpected, but with promise of more to come. Shirleykcarter (at) yahoo (dot) com

  3. On thsi day for the first time ever since I met my love, boyfriend and sometimes husband I forgot his birthday. I felt worse than a worn out slipper that's been tossed to rot out in the rain. So to make it up I'm running amuck preparing a surprise dinner and present for him with the kids and then reinvent myself into a hot bedroom vamp.....this is not an easy task to accomplish in eight hours.

  5. Awesome giveaway idea! Yesterday/this morning I spent trying to figure out how we were going to get me to college/ pick my sister up from college due to the impending arrival of Hurricane Irene. Oh, and checking the house for any earthquake damage after Tuesday. Natural disasters really like me right now :-)

  6. Today was spent cleaning up after yesterday's party. My daughter turned 25. We decided that was a huge milestone, so we celebrated in style. Of course around here we celebrate Tuesday. The weather is wet & dreary, so no-one feels inclined to clean up,but it must be done. (I'm back.) I just stopped my son from abandoning ship. A triumph on my part!!

  7. Today had a passport verification session at the police station, and I dont know why I lost my temper when the police inspector said that I didn't have the proper documents and got into quite a quarrel with him... At the end I learnt never fight with a police man cause you just can't win...
