Teaser Tuesday

Right now I am reading 'That Day in September' by Artie Van Why, preparing to review it on Friday, just before the 10th anniversary of 9/11. Today's teaser is from that powerful book, page 39:

There was an obvious stillness in the air as the hordes of us walked, dazed and shocked, uptown. Thousands of us. Strangers. A mass of silent humanity walking together.
