Darkroom review and giveaway

About the Book:
A thrilling suspense novel about a man’s dark past, his daughter’s mysterious visions, and a psychopath who wants to kill them both. After scattering her mother’s ashes in Vietnam, photojournalist Xandra Carrick moves home to New York to rebuild her life and career. When she experiences supernatural visions that reveal atrocities perpetrated by American soldiers during the Vietnam War, she finds herself entangled in a forty-year-old conspiracy that could bring the nation into political turmoil.
Launching headlong into a quest to learn the truth from her father, a Pulitzer Prize winner who served as an embedded photographer during the war, Xandra confronts him about a dark secret he has kept—one that has devastated their family.
Pursued across the continent, Xandra comes face-to-face with powerful forces that will stop at nothing to prevent her from revealing the truth. But not before government agencies arrest her for murder, domestic terrorism, and an assassination attempt on the newly elected president of the United States.
Darkroom is a riveting tale of suspense that tears the covers off the human struggle for truth in a world imprisoned by lies.
I am so happy to get in on the last day of this tour! This is the first Joshua Graham novel I have read but it decidedly will not be the last.

Xandra Carrick has spent her entire life trying to get her father's attention: make him proud, but no matter what she does, or how well she does it, he always maintains his distance. So when she takes up photography, the profession her father won a Pulitzer Prize for, she isn't surprised when the great Peter Carrick is not impressed. She is a little surprised that he is so adamantly against it, though.

As Xandra learns to trust the visions that begin to haunt her after she and her father return from scattering her mother's ashes, things begin to get ... complicated.

Darkroom is a fast-paced, action filled adventure: a great introduction to a strong-minded, visionary heroine that I can't wait to read more about. That's right - the ending wrapped up this story but left the door open for more Xandra Carrick. Visit Joshua on the web at www.joshua-graham.com and find out for yourself what he is planning next.

A Taste from Page 70:
Getting drenched twice in one day, along with a gruesome discovery through what I still refuse to recognize as a precognitive vision, puts a damper on any hopes for photographic inspiration. Seeing the body bag was enough to curtail my Starbucks run, and that's a significant commentary as to its effect.
Already, the phone has rung and stopped twice. But I'm so shaken I didn't even consider picking up.
Ringing again.
If it's important, they'll leave a message.
