We've all been invited to a book launch party!! So exciting! On Oct 31 - that's Monday - also Halloween, we have all been invited to attend a virtual book launch party for the book 'Out of Breath' by Blair Richmond. If you'd like to check out my review, click here.

You are all cordially invited to the official Out of Breath Halloween virtual book launch party on Monday, October 31.
This all-day party will be hosted right here on our blog (that's Ashland Creek's blog, not this blog), which means we can have a gigantic online party without worrying about the fire marshal breaking it up. All are welcome!
Doing a virtual book tour of my own this spring made me realize just how celebratory the virtual world can be for writers who are not able to get out there and meet with readers in person. So, as the publishers of this fabulous new book, we hope you’ll join us to celebrate online on Halloween.

Kill a Turkey and Celebrate!!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!!

Today is Thanksgiving Day in Canada. It is the day we celebrate the harvest and all that we have to be thankful for before the snow flies and we hit -40C for weeks at a time (that's when we usually forget everything we have to be thankful for!) So, in the spirit of the day - and before my 23 dinner guests show up - I'd like to share a few things I am truly thankful for:

1. Family and friends should go without saying - but I also include all of you who have become a part of my life through this blog. I wouldn't recognize most of you to see you but each of you has made my life fuller and happier.
2. That I CAN read. So many can't. And that I have access to all the books I could ever hope to devour!
3. Sunshine, Blue skies, Colourful leaves, and Brisk air - even if it does mean winter is just around the corner!
4. A warm home that is filled with love, laughter, good people and pets.

OK, I could go on forever but I do have those 23 guests to cook for so I need to run. I hope you all have lots in your lives to be thankful for as well. It would make my day if you'd all leave a comment telling me one or two of those things.

Secret Santa Fun

This is such a great idea! Here's how it works: you can sign up at Book Briefs or at The Magic Attic. Once you sign up (before December 1) you will be paired up with another entrant. Then you send your pair up one book from his/her wish list and someone else will send you one from yours. All the rules can be found at the sign up sights but basically it is a great way to meet new people and have some fun at the same time. You can always order the book from the Book Depository and have it sent directly but I'm thinking I'll send it from home so that I can wrap it some fun way. I'm loving the idea of connecting with another book lover and having another book lover connect with me.
